1. Purpose & Supervision Mandate
Playhouse Nursery guarantees that children are supervised at all times by qualified educators and assistants. High standards of vigilance are maintained in classrooms, sensory studios, dining spaces, restrooms, and outdoor playgrounds to prevent accidents and protect child wellbeing.
2. Adult-to-Child Ratios
We adhere strictly to ADEK and KHDA mandated educator-to-child staffing ratios across all age groups:
• Infants (45 days – 1 year): 1 adult to 3 babies.
• Toddlers (1 – 2 years): 1 adult to 5 children.
• Early Learning (2 – 3 years): 1 adult to 8 children.
• Pre-KG / FS1 (3 – 4 years): 1 adult to 10 children.
• KG1 / FS2 (4 – 5 years): 1 adult to 12 children.
3. Transitions, Restrooms & Outdoor Play
Staff position themselves strategically around learning and play zones to ensure line-of-sight and auditory supervision. Headcounts and roll calls are performed before moving between classrooms, playgrounds, and restrooms.
4. Educational Outings & Field Trips
• Limited to children aged 2 to 5 years.
• Written ADEK approval submitted at least 5 working days before any external excursion.
• Comprehensive risk assessment conducted by management for transport and venue safety.
• Signed parental permission forms required for every participating child.
• Enhanced staff ratios, first-aid kits, emergency contact files, and mobile phones carried on all excursions.
