1. UAE Legal Framework & Wadeema's Law
Playhouse Nursery places child safety as its foremost priority. All child protection procedures comply strictly with UAE Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 (Wadeema's Law), Ministry of Education (MOE), and ADEK/KHDA directives. The law guarantees every child the right to safety, dignity, care, education, and protection from any form of negligence, harm, exploitation, or emotional and physical abuse.
2. Staff Code of Conduct & Child Safety
• Zero Tolerance: Any form of child maltreatment, harsh words, humiliation, or physical punishment is strictly prohibited and leads to immediate dismissal and mandatory reporting to law enforcement authorities.
• Lead Child Protection Officer: The Principal / Nursery Manager acts as the designated safeguarding lead, managing confidential referrals, ongoing staff training, and child protection liaison.
• Annual Mandatory Training: All educators, teacher assistants, and support staff undergo regular child protection workshops and background vetting.
3. 30-Day CCTV Surveillance
For the safety and protection of children and educators, high-definition CCTV cameras monitor all common areas, hallways, reception, and playgrounds. Video recordings are securely preserved for a minimum of 30 days as mandated by UAE regulatory standards. Parents may request footage review with management under established guidelines.
4. Positive Behavior Management (No Time-Outs)
At Playhouse Nursery, we believe positive social behaviors are learned through empathy, gentle guidance, and positive adult role modeling.
• No Time-Out Policy: Children are never isolated, put in corners, deprived of activities, or punished.
• De-escalation & Redirection: Educators use calm, respectful tones, help toddlers name their feelings, and gently redirect energy towards positive, cooperative activities.
• Anti-Bullying: Any peer unkindness is addressed immediately with understanding, mutual respect, and close parental partnership.
5. Inclusive Support for Children of Determination (SEN)
Children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) receive dedicated care and individualized educational plans (IEPs). Collaborative meetings involving parents, classroom teachers, and licensed specialists ensure personalized accommodations, sensory modifications, and complete inclusion alongside peers.
